SUMMER HAS COME AND GONE - CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SNOW - DID I SAY THAT :) But, the heat is still in the 90's. I miss the rain. It's been some time since I've been here. I don't know if it's because I'm older but boy this year has flown by! I have lots of projects, things I am trying to get done. And, this being one of them. So, some of you already know what our summer has been like but not everyone :) I've learned a big lesson this summer and that being 'wait patiently' until we have all the facts. I won't go into all the details but it's been a roller coaster to say the least. The good news is that I'm ok. The blessing in disguise is that the doctor's found a couple of things wrong with my heart that I will have to address 15 years from now. This all started with a hike and a friend pressuring me (more like being a pain in the ass) to go see the doctor. I am very grateful for her persistence! Now, please don't call me..:)..because I will more than likely let it go to voice mail..:) When we see each other, we will fill you in. :) The boys have started school for a couple of weeks now. Jake finished LAX over the summer and has begun football. I miss LAX! Nick did his best at trying out again for the golf league at Legend. He is detemined to try again next year. He is out looking for job applications as he will be turning 16 in October. WOW! My sweet Nick is getting so big and trying to understand life. I hope he figures it out soon :) It was a nice summer with David not traveling so much; but it has started up again. He continues to work hard. I'm still working part-time. I get to exercise again which is a nice perk at work. Jake is turning 11 in a couple of weeks. Still my peanut and a very studious boy. Just wish both my boys could clean up their room once in a while. I'm looking forward to the fall. Take care.

Life continues to move along in the Colleran household. It's been over a month now since our trip to Dubai. David and I enjoyed ourselves while taking many, many pics. My shutterfly book is done. It's just waiting on me to make a few touches and then purchase. David continues to do well this year. He was instrumental in the closing of a huge deal that is out of PHX; near 12 million once the contract is said and done. I think this is his biggest deal yet. So, we may be headed to another exotic place in 2013. Rumors are that it may be Vietnam or Panama. I'm rooting for the shorter distance :). While we miss him greatly every week he is gone, we appreciate all that he does for our family xo! In light of David's travels, I have gained part-time work a few days a week while the kids are in school. I am working for a Chiropractor and a fitness facility called Superslow Zone. I get some freebies from both businesses which is also very nice! It pays for my gas and hair color..ha. Boys are doing well. Nearly 30 days and school is out once again for the summer. Nick is about 5' 6" now and continues to grow and is much thinner than the last time you have seen him. It's nice to see the transition from child/teenager, to young man. The driving has continued so he can be prepared to receive his license come October this year when he turns 16. And, no there won't be a $3,000 birthday celebration for his sweet sixteen. The applications for employment will have been collected and he will be going with David around town to get his first job..:) Wish him luck! And, maybe a little prayer or two. He is looking forward to playing golf this summer. We are hoping to get him in a tournament but waiting to finalize the details of his summer time in California. Both the boys continue to take music lessons weekly. Nicky enjoying his guitar and Jake the drums. No, Jake has no drum set at home. Well wait and see how the year progresses but he is really enjoying himself and doing well. We may need to move so we can have two homes together - one for me and the other for them. Jake growing and mollars falling out weekly. He is up to my chin now. I feel so old and I'm sure the shrinking process will continue for me. Jake is playing lacrosse this year and is doing fantastic! It is so much fun to watch and snap my many pictures :) He will also be joining a summer league more like camp to keep him busy. We are trying to make our rounds of visits. The first person on our list is to visit my pop. Hopefully, between the house painting outside, tree replacement, and upgrading my car at the end of the year we can make this happen this year and of course all of David's travels :(. We hope this latest update finds you well and happy! Hugs to you all ox

It was a muddy day on the track. Jake took his RTC truck that he saved up for with his report card money. It took them a long time to get all that mud off and take the truck apart. Daddy enjoying himself with his boys :)

It's official - Nick has passed his driving permit. He actually aced the test. He is so excited! Me, not so much..ugh! We'll be taking a visit to the DMV to pick up his paperwork later this week. I think David is more excited for Nick and can't wait to take him on the road. I think it's time for me to take some meds..ha. We are very proud of you Nick. Daddy and I will be putting together a 'contract' that will give you access to the car...love this idea..:) Maybe your grades will go up..hee hee. Always remember to call and that we are always here for you. ox

So, it's been awhile. We ran out of space and had to get my favorite techy nerd to help me get back on line...:) Life continues to be great. Boys in school now nearly 3 months. Jake almost done with football and Nick has begun the process of Driver's Ed. Having major anxiety about him driving. lol. But, I'm sure I will never get over worrying about my boys. He is now taller than me and is looking more like a young man. We finally got him to cut his 'mop' off his head. He seems to enjoy the short cut. I still can't believe Nick is in high school. Makes me sad to get old. Jake in 5th grade and doing very well. He continues to attrack the girls and is looking forward to middle school. David is working hard and some of his travel has slowed down a bit which is very nice. I have updated my resume and am hoping to get a part-time job to keep my days busy. Hopefully, something will happen soon and something close to home. Boys fishing labor day weekend in Jefferson. Hope everyone is well and happy! Oh..and Happy Birthday to my Nick who will be turning 15 tomorrow! We love you always..xo

Snowboarding with the boys February 20, 2011 in Breckenridge, CO. It was a very windy, cold day...brrrr! Nicky took a wrong turn and had to find his way back to David & Jake. I was in the lobby warming my cold bones. He was not happy. I guess he should have remembered to bring his phone..:) (he will next time).  All in all everyone had an enjoyable day. Mommy drove home to give Daddy a break. Traffic wasn't bad at all and we got home in a couple of hours.

Granby Weekend - January 2010

Posted by Picasa
We had a great weekend spending time with friends in Granby, CO.  The kids enjoyed themselves sledding, tubing, and a little kid size snowmobiling.  The house was gorgeous and well into the millions.  Each bedroom had these adorable little fireplaces.  It was off the Granby Lake - it will be nice to go back and do some fishing at some point.  We cooked, watched football, played cards, and games.  The last evening was spent in town bowling.  The place only had about 10 lanes and you had to do your own scores - felt like the old days..:)  I'm the one next to David sticking out her tongue..HA.  A definite must to go back and visit.  We even got to see a moose and take some pictures.

RIP: Uncle John Gross

My dad's older brother, John Gross passed away recently.  It's nice to know that we will have another angel to watch over our families.  Uncle John, the age of 83 joins his wife, Joan, and son, Michael.  He leaves behind, his two daughters, Maureen, Rosemary, and son Brian.

It's not very often that you get to witness a loving connection between two brothers.  But, I have to say this was definitely the case for my pop and his brother, John.  While Uncle John lived in NY, and pop lived in SC, the distance between them didn't seem to alter their relationship.  They did their best in keeping in touch and remaining brothers til the end.  It's unfortunate that distance, and time removes us from family ties.

May you be at peace Uncle John.  Remember, to keep the beer cold for my pop..;)

Love those glasses Grandma!
One more to miss

Happy Thanksgiving from the Colleran Family!

A couple of more days and we'll be seating down to the traditional Holiday Turkey Dinner.  The Colleran family will be spending it with our Therrien friends this year.  David and Jake will be getting up early Thursday morning to go ice fishing for the first time with friends.  I may or may not go on a Turkey Trot in the morning with friends; all depends on the weather for me..:)

Nick is leaving shortly for California and will be back on Saturday afternoon.   We are hoping to go up to the mountains at some point this week as they have been getting alot of snow.  My only hesitation is that the mountains are saying it is 8 degrees or colder..AAAAAH.  It is a little chilly here in Parker but very little snow has been coming our way.

Jake is off this week as well as David so the house is busy and messy.  David a sweatheart as always helped me with some curtains for the kitchen.  We have another trip back to the store to do the big curtain for the sliding door.   We have so many things to do on our honey to do list..:)

I have so many crafts going on it's stressing me out...ugh!  I'm also in the middle of a very messy dinning room while I attempt to make my very first Sock Monkey.  I thought it would be nice to make for Nick's siblings in California.  David says my monkey is starting to look like a 'brother' ha.  I'm sure he can do much better with all the talent he has deep inside him.

Well, back to the dinning room.  May you and yours have a very blessed Thanksgiving!  Don't eat too much.  Love, Gail, David, Nick, & Jake xxoo
