TIME FLYING BY......

We are busy with the basement and the tile/stone has arrived. I have a few blisters and taking a couple days to let them heal and then back to painting. David worked in the bathroom to put in the drain for the shower this past weekend. Don't ask me how but he fell back into the hole and bruised himself up pretty bad. I'm still scratching my head..ha.

The boys have finished baseball for the season and are getting ready to enjoy another break from school. Since they are all year round, they will be off at the start of August 14th with a few weeks off. Jake is doing well with his reading and really likes his new teacher, Mrs. Rousey. Nick had a couple of tests today - let's cross our fingers that the studying paid off. David spent a few hours with him reviewing his math..:)..last night. Jake will be playing flag football towards the end of August. It's a little less painful for me to watch. He still wants to join the 'real' football but I'm afraid that he will get hurt. We will see how things go this year.

The weather is finally cooling off! I think after August we will really be looking forward to the snow season..:)

The End of July 2008

We had a great storm last week and Nick was taking some pictures in our backyard. We could actually see three rainbows - one on top of each other - very cool! The boys have been enjoying a little time at the pool after school. It's been pretty hot and we are ALL looking forward to the cooler weather and yes, I will say it - bring on some snow..ha! We are busy with the basement and painting has begun. David picking up the tile/stone this weekend and will begin the task of starting the bathroom and around the bar area. Can't wait for it to be done and to invite our friends over. And, of course, family members are always welcome - even you Stephen..:)

OUR TRIP TO SAN FRANCISCO

A MOTHER'S DAY TO REMEMBER

David, Jake, and I spent last week in SF. While David spent a couple of days in a training class for work, Jake and I took the trolley down to the fisherman's wharf. We spent a day at the Aquarium and visiting all the local shops on Pier 39. Jake enjoyed the seals and eating clam chowder..:) It was quite chilly so we did alot of fast walking. Jake was a little saint as he let me browse/shop through all the stores near our hotel. He has a whirlwind of energy that just tuckers me out. We spent an evening in China town and enjoyed a nice Chinese dinner. On Friday, we took a boat ride around the SF Golden Gate Bridge and took lots of pictures of Alcatraz.

The highlight of our week was definitely meeting David's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins! We met up with the entire family at a lovely restaurant off the water (Skates). We then spent the rest of the weekend getting to reminisce about David's childhood and creating new memories with Jake. We definitely will plan on meeting up with everyone again and planning some future family gatherings!
