HAPPY SPRING!

A FEW MORE WEEKS LEFT FOR SPRING SNOWBOARDING!
David is officially out of the brace and will wear it only if he feels the need. He also got out of this cast today and is wearing a wrist guard periodically throughout the day. The next step is to visit our new doctors and get him set up with a physical therapist to work on his exercises. Here are a couple of pictures we took last week for Easter. We went up to Copper for the Easter egg hunt. It was about 1 degrees when we got there but warmed up quickly - thank the good lord! Love my heaters on days like this! Took the boys up while daddy hung around enjoying the sun. The boys were bummed that we didn't find 1 egg throughout the mountain. They had a egg hunt in the Center Village but that was pretty lame b/c they just threw them on the ground. Don't think we will go up next year for Easter..lol.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A quick update on David - the last MRI told us that David has some torn ligaments as well as the compressed vertebrae. So, still good news that no surgery is required but he will have to wear the brace a little longer. He doesn't have to wear it in the shower which he is relieved as well as when he is sleeping. We are scheduled at the end of the month for another x-ray. David also gets a smaller cast put on his arm this Tuesday. Let's hope this gives him some more mobility.

Some more good news - David has accepted a new position with Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories. He is a Principal Solutions Engineer. He is very excited about this new opportunity and challenge. David will have to do some traveling but not like the traveling he use to do with Zamba. But, of course, I just laugh and say...we'll see.... Wells Fargo was a great company for David and he will surely miss those he worked with. He also gets to work from home and I'm still on the fence with this one - is this a good thing? lol. The kids will definitely like to see him when they get home. We are very proud of him and only hope for the best for him and his career with Genesys. We know he will be an awesome addition.

DAVID AND THE NEW "BLACK" CAST

Today David visited the doctors office in the hopes of getting a smaller cast on his left arm but the doctor thought better and had the arm cover the entire arm. Michael, better known as 'Lurch' was quite serious in his line of work. Informed David, 'no' driving and sponge baths only. So, much fun for me...;) The good news is that he will go back on the 18th of this month and get another cast but it will be smaller and be below the elbow. MRI on his back tomorrow evening...

UPDATE ON DAVID &

THE BOYS AT THE PARK WITH FRIENDS

We visited the spinal doctors yesterday and the good news is that David still does not need to have surgery. The not so good news is that David will have a MRI next Thursday to determine if their is a 'tear' next to the vertebrae. If this is the case, he will have to wear the brace even longer than the 2 or 3 months they initially stated. We are also scheduled for next Wednesday to get his cast on his left arm. They wanted to wait a little longer for the bone to set better before doing the cast. All, I have to say on this subject is that I sleep next to David and for the life of me couldn't figure out this nasty smell...and low and behold it's his arm. Ugh! Another 4 to 6 weeks is going to be so delightful. So, if anyone has any suggestions - please let me know..:)

David's Snowboarding accident..:(

SNOWBOARDING ENDS FOR 2008 - Remember kids always wear your HELMET!
David trying to jump a 20ft or 30ft jump according to Nick who saw it all..

Inside the helmet all the padding just fell apart

As most of you already know, David had an unfortunate accident last weekend which put him in the hospital overnight. David will be getting his cast on his left arm to start the mending process of his fractured wrist this Friday. We also have a doctor's appointment with our regular doctor to determine if we need to visit with a neuro surgeon. I don't think that will be necessary as David is not experiencing any tingling sensation to his bottom half. He probably won't be out of the brace sometime in May. He was really lucky and we are all very thankful that he is here with us and that we can still enjoy his beautiful spirit! Thanks to everyone for your thoughtfulness! The chicken dinner Suzanne was delicious! Erin thanks for the cookies and tea bags. David is getting plenty of tea..:). Also, Hoppee - thanks for adding the calories to my waistband...the pastries are so yummy... Wellsfargo also remembering David with a beautiful plant - TY.
